Wow! Are you actually reading this? I thought only robots were interested in this stuff! But, here you are, so I’m glad I wrote this page to comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the DPA (Data Protection Act) and the PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) It’s something they’re making all website owners do but only about 1% are. That would be me!
Your privacy is super important to me and God knows, we need more regulations. I just wish they were for climate change, or something more important for humanity. At any rate, here goes!
Who I am
I’m Rebecca Forstadt AKA Olkowski and my website address is: https://rebeccaforstadt.com. I am an over-the-hill voice-over actor who is well beyond my prime, in Hollywood terms, but I still sound like an 8-year old.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
I like when you have a Gravatar because then I can see your cute little face.
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
I’m sorry they are not chocolate chip. They don’t have any taste at all and the good thing is they have no calories so you won’t gain weight.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I promise that I won’t send you to creepy sites. I’m not a total asshole.
Who I share your data with
I track demographics on my site using Google Analytics and via certain social media plugins on my site. They may track the type of browser you are using, your operating system, or Internet provider. It is to get a snapshot of my audience so I can address their needs and make their reading experience more enjoyable.
It mainly just shows me who really cares about what I have to say. I get excited when I see visitors. It makes my day . . . or not!
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
However, if you are rude and nasty, I will probably delete it and you will be banned forever. I’m not into engaging with creeps.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
Although, I don’t know why in the world you would want to do this unless you are OCD. I’ll do it, though, because I’m nice.
You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
As I said, I’ll do this because I’m nice.
Where I send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
I mean, who wants to hear from Russian bots or guys looking for a date with someone over 60?
My contact information
Rebecca Forstadt Olkowski
Please don’t send me lame messages on Facebook, I’d rather you sent them through this site instead.
How I protect your data
Your email or any other information that has been collected will never be sold, traded or rented to anyone else.
As I mentioned, I’m not a total asshole.
What third parties I receive data from
I, Rebecca Forstadt, am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide
a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to rebeccaforstadt.com. I also use Google Adsense and iTunes affiliate programs so I can make enough to maintain this website and maybe buy myself a cup of coffee. You will not be charged anything extra if you click on a link and buy something. Those 3rd party sites use their own cookies (also not chocolate chip) and are subject to their own rules. But hey, they are Google, Amazon, and Apple and they are good guys. I also use Shareasale and Bluehost. They are nice too.
